It is very important we do daily meditation with self because its enhances our focus and decision making which lessens our anxieties, worries, fears and stress. Decide on the place and time that works for you: Choose the place and time you are comfortable with, as this will help you make meditation a daily routine.

Determine the amount of time that will be convenient for you: You will agree with me that timing is very important in all that we do because time they say is money. Decide the amount of time that will work for you. For example, 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour e.t.c. The choice is yours.

Choose the meditation posture that works for you. You might want to consider the posture that works or is convenient for you. For example, sitting down, lying down e.t.c.

What are you doing that is working and not working?

What are you doing that is acting as an hindrance to your success?

How can I improve on it?

Where am I now?

Where I want to be in the next 5years, 10years e.t.c?

Success starts from the mind, train your mind to see beyond boundaries and limitations by imbibing the culture of daily meditation.

SELF AWARENESS (Who am I)

Most people find it hard to be aware of who they are because they have not observed themselves and tend to believe narrative about self from others.

Self awareness is knowing who you are or your unique identity which includes your potential, abilities, skills, hobbies, thoughts and experiences.

Self awareness is having the ability to recognize yourself as an individual seperate from other people and being able to judge your own actions, performance and behaviour in various situations.

Self awareness is knowing what you are good at and improving on it.

Importance of Self Awareness

You have a better understanding of self.

You are able to experience yourself as a unique and separate individual.

It helps to be focused.

It brings effective leadership.

Is a vital first step in taking control of your life, creating what you want and mastering your future.

You are able to build yourself in areas of your strength.

Self awareness helps you to identify areas of weakness and make improvements.

It helps you to explain reasons for successes and failures.

Self awareness makes you not to conceal your mistakes but rather improve on yourself.

Self awareness helps to provide the necessary base for having strong character, creating ability to lead with purpose, trust and openness.

How to develop Self Awareness

Create Time and Space for self : It is important you create time and space for yourself everyday even in your busy schedules by doing evaluation and self reflection through writing, reading, meditating and connecting yourself.

Have a journal: Make use of the journal to write your thoughts,  feelings, emotions and observations which will bring peace to your heart.

Pratice mindfulness: It makes you to pay attention to yourself(feelings, emotions, inner state, performance and behaviour) that is you observe what is going on inside and around you at your own time

Be a good listener:  Paying attention and being focus on other people’s emotions, feeling, behaviour, body movement, language and being able to relate with it makes you a good listener.

Goal setting: Set achievable goals not abstract goals for yourself. Write down your goals, plans and priorities in a worksheet, break it down and act on it step by step.

Ask for feedbacks:  You can get feedbacks from family, friends, others and concentrate on the ones that can help you improve on yourself.

Self awareness goes beyond knowing yourself but involves a better understanding of self and paying close attention to your inner state or thoughts with an open mind.

Task

Describe yourself.

Recognise your strengths and weaknesses.

Tips on how to carry out the task

Think about things you are proud of, what makes you happy, what makes you sad, your accomplishments, ask others to tell you about yourself with honesty and sincerity.

This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
